SUMMER RECREATION 2010
"Summer of Themes"
|
June 21-25: Fun, Fun Summertime!
“A little bit of this and a little bit of that” - Whatever it takes to kick-off the summer right! Mardi Gras, Mad Hatter and Hawaiian themes will be celebrated throughout the week with activities ranging from “Hot Teapot”, “ALOHA Bingo”, Balloon Stomp and much more.
June 27-July 2: Pirates!
All hands on deck when it comes to being a Pirate! “Pin the Eye Patch on the Pirate”, find gold pieces and buried treasure, have your face painted and “Walk the Plank”. So many activities happening, you must be present. AARGG!
July 12-16: The Decades
The 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s to present time are taking us back “retro”. Celebrate flower power, love, peace, bell-bottoms, parachute pants, trendy hairstyles and all the crazy dance moves. We’ll Do The Hustle, Macarena and Robot! To get our party started, then continue through the week doing tie-dye, playing trivia and discovering historical moments in time.
July 19-23: Boys v. Girls
Anything you can do I can do better!!! We’ll see about that when boys and girls roll up their sleeves to challenges beyond FUN! Broom Soccer, Tug-O-War, Ping-Pong Endurance and an obstacle course will make this week a challenge for all genders! |

July 26-30: Sci-Fi & Beyond
During this week, we are blasting off to outer space and beyond as we make comets, play Astronauts and Aliens, have a Space Food Eating Contest and participate in Asteroids. To wrap up the week, we’ll make a cool treat of Lunar Ice Cream. If all goes well, we will return you back to your leader!
August 2-6: Fun Outdoors
Why spend all your time indoors, when there is so much to do outside? Parachute games, disc golf, water sports and exercise challenges will be the highlights of this week. Also, it may be recommended to bring a change of clothes because it may get a little wet, you never know what will be in store!
August 9-13: Western Days
Come dressed in your western attire as we go to the Wild, Wild West! Look for treasures in the haystack, play a game of Rattlesnakes, participate in Stampede Races and create your own “Wanted” poster as we see how the West was Won!
August 16-20: Seasons & Holidays
Why wait until November, December or the year 2011 to celebrate our favorite seasons and holidays when we can cram them all into one FULL WEEK? Valentines, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas will be some, of the many, themes we’ll encounter. Can’t wait to ring in the New Year with everyone at the end of the week!!! |
