SUMMER STARS
|
At the Boys & Girls Club, our top priority is kids. Dedicated to improving the quality of life for young people, we continually strive to improve the services we offer. The Summer STARS program is offered as a service to parents needing school-age child supervision during working hours. Elementary age kids enjoy our program because there are children their own age and there is always something fun to do. Participants learn improtant life skills in a safe and positive environment.
Summer STARS takes place at the Boys & Girls Club located at 3333 Walnut Avenue in Coos Bay. Participants will enjoy our computer lab, art center, gym, learning center and games room (pool, bumper pool, table tennis, foosball & air hockey). Some activities will take place outside and in the tennis center.
REGISTRATION
Registration is on a first-come, first served basis for kids going into grades 1-5. Payment and registration must be received in order to reserve a spot. There is a 15 participant minimum and a 30 participant maximum.
BREAKFAST/LUNCH PROGRAM
A breakfast snack and a full USDA approved lunch is served to all participants. If a child has specific dietary needs, we encourage parents to pack a lunch or snack from home.
PHOTOGRAPHS
During the course of the program, pictures may be taken of the participants. Pictures may be used for marketing and/or publicity purposes.
DISCIPLINE POLICY
Participants in the Summer STARS Program are expected to behave in a manner conducive to a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Inappropriate/disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in the child’s exclusion from the program. No refunds will be allowed in this situation.
FEES
7:30am - 1:00pm $105 per week
LATE FEE
A budget for the STARS program must be determined in advance so that adequate staff can be arranged. For this reason, the deadline to register is the Wednesday before the week you wish your child to attend. Registration must be received by 5:30 p.m. in the Club office. Registrations received after this deadline will be charged an additional $10 per child, per week.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Children enrolled determine the staffing level and our budgetary guidelines. Please inform the Club office of cancellations or changes by 5:30 p.m. of the Monday prior to the week your child is scheduled. If you do not notify the Club office of a cancellation or change by the above stated deadline, there will be a $10 fee.
FAMILY DISCOUNT/AFS APPROVED
We are AFS approved and offer a 10% discount for families registering more than one child.
PAYMENT OPTIONS:
Payment must be received in full at the registration deadline (Wednesday, prior to the week your child will attend, by 5:00pm). Payments can be made by Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard, or Money Order.
