June 17-21: Washed Ashore
What better place to start our Club’s summer activities then right here on the beautiful Oregon coast? Whether it’s a field trip to the beach or making clam chowder, this week will be all about exploring what makes the coast such an amazing place to call home.
June 24-28: Heroes of Mount Olympus
Club members will have the opportunity to learn about everything Greek. There will be delicious food, thrilling games, and even some knowledge to be found along the way. Whether you have strength like Hercules or a mind like Socrates, this should b an overall great experience.
July 1-5: A Salute to Uncle Sam
Let us honor our country’s amazing history and celebrate our freedoms. The red, white, and blue will shine brightly this week, as most of the activities will be patriotically themed.
July 8-12: The Zoo Keeper's Paradise
A Club-wide safari will be in effect as we travel the world and take in all of the amazing animals that our Earth has to offer.
July 15-July 19: What's Up Mother Nature?
We will continue on the journey that we started in week 1 and explore more of what our surrounding environment has to offer! Mother Nature also needs to be respected, so this week members will get to learn about some valuable survival skills. The great outdoors awaits, so what are we waiting for?
July 22-July 26: It's All Fun & Games Until...
Members will have a chance to play some of the games and sports they love, and even get to try some they may not know so well. Maybe you want to learn how to play disc golf? Or perhaps you are more comfortable improving your basketball skills? This week is all about staying active, a key component to a healthy lifestyle.
July 29-August 2: A Midsummer's Enchanchment
Let your imagination take flight as we have created another fun-filled week that Walt Disney himself would be proud of! The magic of fairytales has come to life here at the Club!
August 5-9: Drip, Drip, WET
No summer is complete without the opportunity to beat the heat and enjoy everything that water has to offer. Back by popular demand, this is usually our most popular week. CAUTION - You May get wet. And by MAY, we mean WILL. Members will likely want to bring a towel and / or change of clothes.
August 12-16: What a Long, Strange Trip it's Been
For our final week we will relive some of the more popular games and activities from the entire summer. It will be Kid's Choice Week! We will also be featuring some daily challenges.

Washed Ashore: Community Arts & Ecology Partnership: This summer the Boys & Girls Club is partnering with Washed Ashore, a Bandon-based community art organization, to help create monumental sea life sculptures with plastic debris collected from local beaches. Our participants of all ages will enjoy a summer of fun and creative hands-on activities while working to increase awareness of marine pollution- through beach cleanups, fieldtrips and in-house workstations.
Space Race 2013: Any student in grades 4-8, will have a chance to participate in the Club’s first annual amateur rocketry tournament. They will design and build their own compressed air rockets to launch in four exciting events. Orientation and kits will be distributed July 8th and the competition is slated for August 1st. Cost is only $25.
Science, Technology, the Arts and Recreation: With over two dozen classes for kids, grades 1-12, they will be exposed to interactive and educational programs within the sciences, technology, the arts and recreation. Following is a list of scheduled class titles:

“Call of the Wild “Thursdays: Join the Club every Thursday for a summer of fun and educational outdoor activities! Club staff and a lineup of guest instructors will have you hike a local trail, learn wilderness survival skills, make your own custom duck call and more with a new activity every week. Participants will not want to miss out on the finale fieldtrip to Wildlife Safari!
Sport Camps: Sport camps, available to all Members ages 4-18, running through the summer, will include:
- Golf
- Disc Golf
- Basketball
- Soccer
- Gymnastics
- Dance
- Bowling
Friday Fieldtrips: Always trying to find something for your child to do? Each Friday, the Boys & Girls Club will be alternating and transporting Club kids to both local swimming pools, North Bend Lanes and Joey’s Arcade throughout the summer months. The first trip will be Friday, June 21, 3:00-5:00 pm, to North Bend Lanes. Early sign-up is suggested with fees varied by excursion.

The Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon offers sports camps with unique instructional programs for all ability levels... Last year hundreds of youth spent their Spring and Summer vacations staying active and learning new skills at SeaBreeze Sports Camps. SeaBreeze Sports Camps have been providing local youth instruction since 1982! |
